Good to know:
WHAT IS A WOOD WICK?
A wood candle wick is a cleaner alternative to traditional cotton wicks. Cotton wicks don't stand up straight, so often traces of heavy metals are added to cotton wicks, and when burnt, these traces of heavy metals are released into your air (and home).
you can feel confident knowing that milk jar's wood wick candles release no harmful by-products when lit.
WHY ARE WOOD WICKS BETTER?
Since wood wicks contain no heavy metals and result in a cleaner burn, they are healthier for you to burn in your home. They are also environmentally friendly and actually emit the candle scent better. As wood wicks burn, they create a dancing flame that crackles, instantly making your space inviting and cozy.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF COCONUT CANDLE WAX?
Candles made with a coconut soy wax blend will burn 30-50% slower than paraffin wax, giving you a candle that lasts longer. Coconut and soy are plant-based and renewable, so it's also environmentally friendly, produces minimal to no soot while burning, and releases no harmful toxins into the air.
HOW DO I CARE FOR A WOOD WICK CANDLE?
First, make sure your wick is trimmed to between 1/8" to 3/16" (3.2mm to 4.8mm) before lighting. If the wick is too long, the wax will not pull with the wick and the wick will extinguish. The melted wax is the fuel to the flame! Second, make sure your candle is at room temperature before lighting. Lastly, be sure to snap off the burnt wood along the top of the wick before re-lighting.
HOW ARE MILK JAR’S COCONUT CANDLES SCENTED?
Milk Jar Candles get their rich scents from either essential oils or phthalate-free fragrance oils.
WHY WON'T MY WOOD WICK CANDLE STAY LIT?
Wooden wicks do need a little attention and tending to before each burn. Be sure to gently snap off or trim the ash or burnt wood along the top edge of the wick. This should solve any issues you have with your candle staying lit.
